My research work focuses on investigating the lower ionosphere (D-region), a critical transition region where neutral atmospheric dynamics and ionospheric plasma processes are strongly coupled. The work centers on understanding electron density variations and associated dynamical processes in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere (MLT) region. I primarily use observations from the partial reflection radar at Juliusruh, which provides continuous, altitude-resolved electron density and wind measurements. My PhD is part of the AIRMoPSy project, which investigates how D-region variability affects radio wave propagation and R-Mode navigation accuracy, supporting resilient terrestrial positioning as a backup to GNSS.
