We provide information about our research activities and make scientific discoveries available to the public, the media and expert audiences.
The aim of our public relations work is to communicate research findings, methods and developments in a factual, accessible and consistent manner.

We report regularly on our institute’s projects, events, awards and selected publications.

At regular intervals, we open our doors to the public and offer a glimpse into our research processes and working environments. We show visitors our laboratories, explain our work and give you the chance to test your knowledge in a quiz.
Long Night of Science
Every year, the institute takes part in the ‘Long Night of Science’ in Rostock and presents its research as a guest at the Institute of Physics at the University of Rostock.
Offers and Insights
We offer guided tours for schools, universities and organisations, providing insights into our current research.
Guided tours are aimed at groups. Individual visits are generally not possible. Interested individuals have the opportunity to get to know the institute during our open days and at selected public events, such as the Long Night of Science.

The Institute is open to inquiries from the media, educational institutions, as well as from the political and general public.
